NSV is developing a portfolio of investor-ready projects by making strategic investment focused on bridging the gap between academic discovery research and commercially viable development projects.

Neurosciences Victoria is constantly seeking submissions from scientists throughout Victoria in order to maintain a commercially attractive portfolio for the purposes of attracting inward investment into Victorian neuroscience. The NSV Scientific Advisory Committee assesses all proposals received prior to their admission into the project portfolio.

NSV supports projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Strong scientific merit
  • High feasibility and likelihood of completion according to identified and agreed upon milestones and decision criteria
  • Strong likelihood of commercial co-investment or strong intellectual property generation, which is likely to lead to commercial investment in the near future
  • Evidence that the project will build upon existing strengths in Victorian neuroscience
  • Enhancement of collaboration between different institutes with a particular emphasis on taking basic work into a translational phase
